The Peel-and-Go Lip Stain You Need Now

On-the-go gals we are, women always looking for a lip color that’s going to last through anything. And while beauty brands always have good intentions with new lip stain launches, by now you likely know that a formula built with true longevity is hard to master. Whether the pigment isn’t rich enough, the product causes pesky pillage, or the formula just doesn’t quite live up to its around-the-clock staying power, finding the perfect lip stain is no easy feat.

Yet you can always rely on Korean beauty brands for a refreshing new take on a classic beauty product. While on her latest pilgrimage to Korea—the mecca of beauty—Around the World Beauty founder Stephanie Flor discovered Secret Key Chubby Jelly Tint Pack ($9, beautynetkorea.com), a bright lip stain with a concept that your inner child would adore. Remember those times you’d spend peeling Elmer’s glue off of the palm of your hand like a lizard shedding its skin? Or the amount of time you spent begging your mom to let you wear temporary tattoos? Consider this the grown-up version of a hybrid of both pastimes. The Chubby Jelly Tint Pack is a collagen-based formula infused with vitamins and rich pigments to hydrate your lips before peeling away and leaving a fun color behind.

Apply the bright-colored sticky stuff to your lips directly from the tube as you would a traditional gloss. Then, let it sit on your lips for about 10 minutes or until completely dry. Peel, and notice the subtle deposit of color on your lips.

Now, here are the pros and cons. If you’re going for a punchy, statement-making hue, you’ll want to top it off with a bold gloss or lipstick as the gloss only offers a light tint. Otherwise, embrace the natural stain—it’ll look as though you’d been sucking a fruity lollipop for hours!

Also, consider applying a lip liner after peeling the stain away. The liner will help create definition and can also be used to fill in any spots the stain may not have adhered to on your lips. (Start with a gentle lip scrub to slough away dead skin cells before applying the gloss to avoid this.)
